Pollensa is how most would describe as the ‘up-market’ area in Mallorca. With the super easy motorway link straight from Palma airport to Pollensa, it’s no longer than a 50-minute straightforward drive. ...

As you’re driving up to the North of the island, you can’t help but notice the beautiful scenic mountainous range, which offers an amazing backdrop to many of our villas. There are certain points on the mountain that you can go walking (recommended out of season), but this activity is becoming more and more popular with individuals wanting breaks which involve exercise, fresh air and at the same time enjoying stunning views!

Another very popular sport activity in Pollensa, again something you will notice once arrived into the area, is cycling. This activity has grown and become more popular as Pollensa has become well known for its ideal, good conditioned roads (with cycling lanes).

There are two main parts to Pollensa, both very different from each other, giving a good mix.

Puerto Pollensa is where you’ll find the long, sandy stretch of beach, a very picturesque area ideal for families. You’ll also find the marina here, with its smart, trendy walkway through housing a few trendy bars and restaurants.

The Pine Walk is almost seen as a famous spot on the beach front. An incredibly pretty pedestrianised cobbled walk along the beach front with palm trees lining it and a super array of restaurants, bars and the odd coffee shop.

Set back slightly from the main drag of restaurants is the area which is popular and comes to life in the early evenings, with an abundance of gastronomy and ice cream parlours etc… plus, the local children playing, kicking a ball about / skipping, giving a lovely warm atmosphere. This is definitely worth a visit during your stay.

The ‘Old Town’ of Pollensa is a total contrast of Puerto Pollensa, offering quirky lined streets and cobbled walkways almost built like a maze, where you have to wander around to fall upon the fabulous restaurants that are tucked away along the narrow alleys or in the Old Town itself.

It’s impressive, beautiful and mesmerising just to ‘look’ at and soak in the Old Town atmosphere. Here you will also find boutique shops, cute coffee shops and ice cream parlours. This area is popular with the locals as its home to them.

The market, every Sunday, is within the main square and cannot be missed, with its best fruit and veg and handcrafted items available for purchase. The atmosphere here is also at its best!

Due to Pollensa’s massive range of diversity and totally different areas, which appeals to most, including families, grandparents and even single active travelers. There is definitely something here for everyone, apart from maybe… the party people, although not to say you won’t fall upon the odd Irish bar dotted about the square or a bar with live music – popular too within the height of the season.

A villa holiday in Pollensa has something for everyone.
