There are both sea and shore angling locations in the area.
There is a dolphin watching boat which operates from Carrigaholt. (http://www.dolphinwatch.ie/)
There are many top class golf courses in the surrounding areas of Kilkee, Kilrush Doonbeg and Lahinch.
Lahinch surfing beach and The Cliffs of Moher are located about 45 minutes away. The Burren is only a short drive further.
Kilkee is a popular holiday town nearby with a large sandy swimming beach.
Carrigaholt also has a long beach suitable for swimming.

From Shannon Airport: Upon entering the motorway, travel towards Ennis. Take the exit to Ennis. Go through the first and second roundabout and take a right at the third and travel in the direction of Kilrush. When you come to Kilrush follow the sign for Kilkee. When you enter Kilkee take the main road to the left and travel in the direction of Carrigaholt.

From Dublin: take the motorway to Limerick and the follow the signs to Shannon airport/Ennis and follow the above instructions.
