Fréjus (4 km): an area rich in archaeological heritage (the Arenas, the Roman Theatre, the Aqueduct…), religious heritage (Cathedral, Cloister and Baptistery) and military heritage (the “Musée des Troupes de la Marine” (Naval infantry museum) and the “Mémorial de l’Armée Noire” (“Black Army” memorial)…
The Massif des Maures reaching from Hyères (94 km) to Saint-Raphaël: the coast, with its numerous resorts, offers viewpoints and attractive sites all along the magnificent tourist route called the "Corniche des Maures" (from Hyères to La-Croix-Valmer). Inland, the countryside has many shady valleys and wild ravines. The Argens Valley separates this countryside from the Massif de l’Estérel.
The Massif de l’Estérel: between St Raphaël and La Napoule (34 km), this natural setting is one of the most beautiful regions of Provence, stretching right down to the sea in places.
To be seen: Ste Maxime (25 km), St Tropez (40 km), the lakeside dwellings at Port Grimaud (33 km), Gassin (39 km) and Ramatuelle (40 km), two picturesque villages built on the hillside, offering superb views.

Resort Description

The architectural style of its Villas evokes St Raphaël’s gracious past including the Rouquerousse Villa (1900), the Sémiramis Villa (with its eastern charm) and the Paquerettes Villa (ceramic decor).
The René Coty promenade and Général de Gaulle Boulevard, lined with plane and palm trees, offer a beautiful view of the sea and red twin rocks ("Le Lion de terre" and "Le Lion de mer").
To be seen: the church of Notre Dame de la Victoire in Lépante (Neo-Byzantine style), the Valescure district on the right bank of the Garonne, the Old Town with the remains of its ramparts (in the museum gardens), the old port, the Archaeological Museum (ancient remains, amphorae, etc), the church of St Pierre des Templiers (built in the Romanesque style of the 12th century).

Esterel golf course
Located on the Maeva site, this 18-hole green carved out of the natural setting and surrounded by umbrella pines offers a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere. Robert Trent Jones Senior has taken advantage of this outstanding natural setting to offer a green which is physically easy yet technically complex (with bunkers, water features and above all the famous "Lac des Dames").

Golf Académie de l’Esterel (Esterel golf academy)
Located 2.8 km from the residence, the Golf Académie de l’Esterel offers a driving range (certain areas are under cover), a putting green and a pitching green.
Mini 9-hole green offering an enjoyable course for both beginners and experienced golfers alike.

Equipment on loan for the duration of the course (including outside lesson times) and free entry to the golf course (depending on level) during the entire duration of the lessons
Practice balls provided during lessons + 6 free buckets.

Saint-Raphaël is a coastal commune (borough) in the Var, which is a département (county) in France on the renowned and beautiful Côte d'Azur resort coast, in eastern Provence.

Immediately to the west of Saint-Raphaël lies another, older, town called Fréjus, and together they form an urban agglomeration known as Fréjus Saint-Raphaël. The Var lies in the region called Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, often abbreviated to PACA.

In the second half of the nineteenth century the township came under the influence of mayor Felix Martin and writer Alphonse Karr, and owing to their efforts and the beneficial climate the commune developed into a seaside resort popular with artists, sportsmen and politicians.
