Our Enchanted Lake Cabin is one of the eleven homes nestled in a very secluded cove. It is a two bedroom, one bath lakefront home. The views are amazing! Everywhere you look, you see beautiful Smith Mountain and the lake. There is a 6-foot picture window in the master bedroom, which offers you an incredible view of the lake and the Mountain. Imagine breakfast in bed as you sit and take in the awesome beauty of the lake!
The home is updated with all new appliances and furniture. It truly looks like something right out of Better Homes and Garden -- it is just charming. There is a great room, which comprises the dining room, kitchen, and living room. The whole back of the house is glass that leads to a deck overlooking the lake and its breathtaking views.

Smith Mountain Lake is over 20,000 acres and it has 500 miles of coastline. It is known as the jewel of Virginia for its pristine beauty. It was created in 1966 when engineers dammed the Backwater and Roanoke rivers and flooded Smith Mountain Gap which now provides electricity for the surrounding communities. The lake is a great place for families that want to get away from the crowds and be close to nature. Try having a picnic on one of the many islands on the lake, water skiing or golfing at Mariners Landing where you receive a 50% reduction on green fees, excluding golf cart fees when you rent one of our homes. The lake is the perfect destination for your very own style of fun, whether you seek days full of activities or just plain relaxing. The lake offers fabulous swimming, hiking, boating, shopping opportunities from antique to art galleries, dining and entertainment options, fascinating historical sightseeing, and simply sitting back and enjoying the glorious scenery It is also renowned as one of the best fishing lakes in the country. It is not unusual for guests to catch 20 to 30 pound striped bass right off our dock!
Getting There
Fly to Washington
Driving directions from the North:
Take 66 (outside of Washington DC) to Route 29 south (Warrenton).
Follow 29 through Charlottesville and Lynchburg.
Exit on 43 (AltaVista). Take a right after exiting on 43 traveling away from AltaVista.
Follow for about 11 miles and take a left on 626
Follow 626 for about 7 miles and take a left on 608 (there is small grocery store and gas station on the left side about one block before you take the left on 608).
Follow 608 until you reach the sign that says Cedar Key Wildlife Refuge. Take a right and follow until the end.
After Entering the Property: The Lodge is the largest in the resort and sits on a hill and oversets the other smaller cabins. Then Cabin is #6 located on the road and is the fourth home down. Please do not park your car in front of cabin 6 for any reason other than to unload. The parking lot is just seconds away. You may park up to two cars in front of the lodge but please park your boat and or boat trailer in the parking lot and not in front of the Lodge.
From the South: Take 29 north and follow above.

if you rent either our gracious lodge or our enchanting cabin you can enjoy 18 holes of golf for only 50% of the green fee on a beautiful course at Mariners Landing! This offer is valid every day that you are renting, for all members of your renting party. Of course, you will also have to rent your cart.
Mariners Landing is an 18 hole championship golf course with an original design by Robert Trent Jones. The par 72 course incorporates plenty of challenge for the advanced golfer as well as hours of enjoyment for the novice. The facility incorporates a full driving range and putting green, with breathtaking views of Smith Mountain Lake and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Mariners Landing Golf & Country Club is locally owned and operated by Michael Haley, Thomas Haley, Greg Haley, and Todd Hammock. Todd Hammock is the resident golf pro and the club's General Manager.
