Villa Madrigal Praia Da Rocha Algarve Portugal

Villa Madrigal sits in a superb position on the eastern end of headland that is the famous resort of Praia da Rocha, so you will not need to drive for food & entertainment. The ground floor combines the entrance hall, conservatory, kitchen, dining and living room with the veranda, both pools and barbecue area, all accessible from the carport gate. The pools can be heated and the shallow paddling pool has a long bench seat, ideal for small children to play or grown-ups to enjoy a glass of wine whilst sitting in warm water of an evening. Upstairs are three bedrooms, all styled by the owner. The Master bedroom features a custom-made kingsize bed, en-suite bathroom and walk-in closet. You’ll feel like royalty sleeping in this bedroom and from the windows you will enjoy gorgeous views of the Dom João castle and Portimão harbour. The Marina Room has ...

...a canopied double bed and its own veranda overlooking the Marina. The twin-beds blue-room shares a bathroom with the Marina room. Downstairs is the Garden Suite with its own sitting room and breakfast bar, a double and twin-bed room and a shared bathroom. There is much, much more to the Algarve than sun and sea. You can discover the remains of Roman towns, admire cool tiled churches and explore narrow winding side streets. Praia da Rocha is in the Barlavento, meaning west. Lagoa is famous for its wines, Silves for its ancient red sandstone castle and battlements standing proudly against a background of mountains, and Caldas de Monchique for its quaint Roman spa town. Lagos, 16 km further along the coast, was one of the earliest settlements where Prince Henry the Navigator built his ships for the voyages of discovery. Further west lies the dramatic windswept promontory of Sagres, known for its fort, now an emblematic and cultural place, and for being the departure point of Portuguese navigators, and of Cabo de Sao Vicente, once thought, as it stood on the very edge of the world, to be a meeting place of the gods. Algarve claims more than three hundred days of sunshine per year and has something to offer everyone, tempting golf courses on which international tournaments are played, superb tennis, hill-walking and riding, and every watersport you can think of.

The wide, mile-long Atlantic beach is only 100 yards from Villa Madrigal, where aside from swimming there is water-skiing, sailing, windsurfing, jet-skiing and pedalos, tennis courts, beach sports and many beach bars and restaurants and night clubs. Along the clifftop esplanade are shops, supermarkets, cafes, cinema, casino, bowling alley, bars, discos, restaurants and much, much more. Below the villa at the Marina, you can take a boat excursion or a dolphin safari. As for nightlife, you name it and Praia da Rocha has it, sporting events, competitions, sail races, folk-dancing, shows, musical events such as BPM Festival, and even Classical Concerts on the Beach. So much to do, and yet complete privacy when you need peace and quiet.

Fly to Faro with Aer Lingus, BA, EasyJet, Ryan Air, Flybe and many more, car hire is available at the airport. On leaving Faro Airport roundabout take the EXIT Portimao/Lisboa on the A22, the tolled motorway that runs East-West along the Algarve. 56 km drive will bring you to EXIT 4 PORTIMAO. Follow all signs to Centro until Praia da Rocha appears on the boards. When you top the rise at Praia da Rocha you are on the sea-front, turn left along the Esplanade Av. Tomas Cabrito driving all the way Eastwards to the end where the Fortaleza de Santa Catarina sits on the headland on your right. Go left up the hill, you can see the Marina on the right below the peninsula. Villa Madrigal is the third of the 3 individual villas on your right overlooking the Marina and Harbour of Portimao. The name MADRIGAL is marked on the curved carport wall.

"On our arrival we were simply blown away by the space, the views, the kitchen, the bedrooms…..I mean I could go on and on. You get such a homely feeling as soon as you walk through the doors and this is just a credit to Barbara. Not once did i feel i was staying in a rented villa. It is the only way to holiday. Cant wait to return next year !!!!" Derek – Ireland

"All our party had a fantastic holiday and would recommend this villa. We were met by the maid who showed us round the property. The villa was spotlessly clean and it wasn’t easy to choose our bedrooms as all 5 were different and had unique features. The layout of the villa is great, with shaded areas by the pool and a balcony with sun beds which gets the afternoon sun. The kitchen was well kitted out with ample plates , glasses and cutlery. The villa is in a quiet area of Praia da Rocha, and the beach is only a 5 minute walk. Faro airport is 45 minute drive away. With 5 bedrooms the villa is such value for money. A big thank you to BJ for her help in making the booking so easy" Mark - England

"Our party of 7 with ages ranging from 19 to 81 had a great time at Madrigal. The villa was very clean with lots of amenities provided. It was spacious with lots of places for the older ones to get a bit of piece and quiet for reading etc if required. It was very easy to get to the centre and to the beaches. The local restaurants were very good but we had a few BBQs at the villa as the weather was really good. Would definately recommend this villa"
