Beachfront Apartment, South-Facing, Air-con, Fantastic view of Albufeira Bay. Located between the Old Town and Praia da Oura, 'Quinta da Barracuda' shares the seafront with hotels nearby. The quality and safety of local beaches has been rewarded with blue flags. While the apartment is best suited to 2 persons, it can sleep up to 4 people. Just a few minutes walking to reach the beach. There are 2 swimming pools (a toddlers pool & the main pool), sunbeds, parasols & landscaped gardens. Bedroom: Two single beds, proper air-conditioning, heating, bedside lockers, rugs, large built-in wardrobe with integrated drawers, dressing table, large mirrors, hair dryer, TV with DVD player, safe, artwork, patio door to balcony, electric shutters. Located between the Old Town and the Praia da Oura area. There are shops & restaurants nearby.

Stroll along the beach for 15 minutes into the Old Town.

Alternatively walk less than 10 minutes up 'Rua Vasco da Gama' to reach 'The Strip' with the wide variety of shops, restaurants, bars entertainment venues.

Taxi rank and bus stop located at the top of the road.

Pick-up and drop-off points for organised tours are mostly very close-by.

Albufeira is an ideal location for both Summer or Winter breaks.

The range of activities in or near Albufeira is fantastic. This list is only an indication of what is on offer; water parks (3), horse riding, jeep safari, golf, carting, quad bikes, diving, jet-ski, banana-boat, para sailing, paintball, tennis, bowling and open-air markets. And that just for day time!

By night, Albufeira offers a wide variety of options ranging from fine dining in cosy restaurants, family dining in cafes, fast food outlets, lots of music bars, live music venues, karaoke and nightclubs. Many stalls and shops stay open until late.

There are more than 30 golf courses on the Algarve. Because Albufeira is right in the centre of the Algarve, it is a perfect place to stay. Local courses include Pine Cliffs, Salgados and Balaia. Vilamoura offers some of the best courses in the world (Millennium, Victoria, Old Course, Laguna, Pinhal, etc.) and is only about 15 minutes by car.

Besides the local supermarket & minimarket, cafes & bars, there are local shops that sell organised tours, daily UK papers, car rental, a hairdressers/beauty saloon, even an English speaking medical clinic. Many day tour buses stop just beside the front gate. Taxi fares to the 'Old Town' average about €6 (including the call-out charge). The 'New Town' areas of Praia da Oura, the Strip and Santa Eulalia are just a few minutes walk.

About 30 minutes drive from Faro airport. Private transfers can be booked (€40 per group each way including luggage, extra for late flight arrival or very early pick-up times).

Albufeira has a train-station (serving Lisbon, Portimao, Faro) and a bus station for local use as well as long distance journeys.

The main points are as follows;

Prices are per week (except for the monthly rate which is only available during winter months and a few extra t&c's apply).

A discount will be offered for stays greater than 2 weeks.

Minimum deposit is £120 (€150). The complete balance to be paid no less than 4 weeks before arrival.

Due to the pandemic, refunds are only available if government advice changes and that advice expressly prohibits travel to Portugal. Any other reason for change, and that includes reasons such as changes to quarantine periods, will not qualify for a refund.

The lower deposit amount and the final payment period being reduced to 4 weeks before arrival were implemented in order to reduce the risk of financial loss for guests.

Regarding the most recent decrees from the Portuguese government, it is now necessary that all guests staying at any hotel, guesthouse or apartment show that they have either a Covid Digital Certificate or a valid negative test result. Children under 12 are exempted from these rules.

A temporary additional requirement to travel to Portugal is the need to present a negative Covid-19 test. That test must be performed at a suitable professional place such as a pharmacy or health testing facility. Both 'PCR' and 'Antigen' tests satisfy the current needs. Bring a copy of the test results with you or be able to present the results upon arrival at the airport.

Outdoor dining and drinking is permitted without having to have the same evidence. However, indoor dining on Saturday and Sunday nights is now permitted only to those who have the same Covid related evidence. It seems likely that this limitation on indoor dining will possibly be extended to the other five nights.

The positive aspect of this is that guests can enjoy a lovely holiday and enjoy eating and drink at restaurants and bars that are open until 10.30pm each night. Nightclubs and similar music bars are not open.

A refundable cash deposit of £150 or €200 (to cover accidental damage to property and/or equipment) must be paid upon arrival. That refundable deposit (less any reasonable deduction for damages) will be refunded in cash upon departure.

Other conditions apply but these are necessary to comply with legal obligations. These conditions are identical to those that apply if you were checking into any other apartment, guesthouse or hotel in Portugal. This means that we must register such details with the Portuguese authorities after your arrival. That information should match the 'location form' you submit upon arrival into Portugal. The data is printed in your passport.

Just wanted to let you know that your apartment was perfect for our holiday. The location was great and it was wonderful to be able to just stroll down to the beach. The apt was finished to a very high standard and the views from the balcony were gorgeous. If I am heading to the Algarve next year will definitely be looking to book it.
