The setting is an oasis of tranquillity from which to explore the many nearby attractions of Lagos, its coastline and stunning beaches. Car hire is recommended to fully enjoy all the surrounding attractions. We can organise this for you on request. The property is very child friendly and safe with loads of grounds to explore and extensive lawn areas for fun and games. The pool is heated from 1 May to 30 September. It measures 10m x 5m with a max depth 1.8m and is walled and fenced from the main garden. We think pool heating is essential, even in warmer months. Heating can be requested for an extra charge at other times of year. The pool is surrounded by both terraced and grassed sunbathing areas with sun umbrellas, chairs and comfortable sun loungers from which to relax and enjoy the unspoilt surroundings and countryside views towards the Monchique hills. There is also a shaded picnic area next to the pool which is ideal for outdoor dining. Beyond a rockery is the small orchard which contains a variety of trees including oranges, lemons, grapefruit, walnuts and pomegranate. Pick your own when in season. The property has secure electric gates with an access code inside which is a long driveway lined with trees, and plenty of parking space. The 2.5 acres of land is well fenced and hedged and the property is surrounded by mature gardens and colourful flower boxes with a large area of lawn towards which all the terraces and patios face. Because this is our home we, Colin and Sue, the English owners, take pride in maintaining the property and grounds to a high standard. We are on hand to give advice, local information, carry out repairs when necessary and to make sure that you have everything you need to make your stay as relaxing and comfortable as possible. Pool and garden Walkway to the pool

The Western Algarve is still recognised as the unspoilt, quieter region of the Algarve. The area offers something for everyone year round: a selection of challenging and scenic golf courses; numerous beaches ranging from long stretches of golden sand to small secluded coves; scenic mountain walks through olive groves; as well as watersports, boat trips, dolphin watching and all the attractions and activities found in the lively and cosmopolitan harbour town of Lagos just 5km along the coast.

Odiáxere, our friendly local village, is 1km or a 15 minute walk away. It offers a selection of local restaurants and bars, a restaurant with international cuisine, a daily fish and vegetable market, bakery, chemist, post office and several mini-markets. Best take the car at night as the road is dark.

The picturesque town of Lagos is 5km away, less than 10 minutes by car. Supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants and nightlife can all be found within the ancient city walls in an unspoilt, harbourside setting. Even the town beaches are excellent.

Nearest airport is Faro (75km). Fly with Ryan Air from most Irish airports.

Towels and linen are provided, although guests should bring their own beach/pool towels.
There is a weekly maid service during stays of more than 1 week.
A complimentary welcome pack of groceries is provided - enjoy a light snack and relax by the pool before having to shop.
A cot, highchair and baby car seat are all available free of charge.
Golf clubs are available for hire.
All guests have free access to a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
No pets and no smoking inside the apartments.
Pool heating is included in the price between 1 May and 31 October. It can be requested at other times of the year for an extra charge.
The pool is closed in hours of darkness and, for the comfort of other guests, no music is permitted outside the apartments (personal stereos only).

The property is approximately 1km from the main EN125 road on a tarmac country road which then continues towards the beach. Inside the electric gates with keycode entry, the Quinta is approached by a long gravel driveway lined with trees, at the end of which there is plenty of parking space. The perimeter is well fenced and hedged surrounding 2.5 acres of mature gardens and colourful flower boxes with a large area of lawn towards which all the apartments face. Beyond a picturesque rockery is the orchard which has a variety of trees including oranges, lemons, grapefruit, walnuts, pomegranate and more.

Quinta Bavaria has been praised by birdwatchers for the number of species seen whilst simply sitting on the patio. The surrounding area provides habitat to an abundance of bird and wildlife and is perfect for walkers, ramblers and birdwatchers alike.

Utilities are not included from 31 October to 31 March. These are charged according to a meter reading at the end of your stay. We ask for a euro deposit against this charge.

To secure a booking we ask for a 25% deposit with the balance due 8 weeks prior to arrival.
