Villa De Carrida With Private Heated Pool, Puerto Del Carmen, Lanzarote

Villa de Carrida is a fantastic villa is in a very quiet street in an upmarket part of Puerto del Carmen and is very close to amenities: Supermarket - 'Spar' 350m or 'Lidl' 1.8km (can request a taxi at check-out) Local bar - 'Crafty Cow' 300m Local restaurants - 'Marios' 320m and 'Highlander Too' 350m Old Town Harbour - to the marina board-walk 500m down the steps or 550m down the zig-zag walkway, or to the restaurants and ferry 700m Biosfera Shopping Plaza - 1.2km Beaches - Playa Chica 1.4km and Playa Grande 1.9km Lanzarote Golf - 4.8km Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park 5km Villa de Carrida is located close to the coastal path, which in an easterly direction and provides a very pleasant sea-view walk down to the Old Town harbour (approx. 10 mins). The outside is perhaps the most important part of a Lanzarote holiday and this villa does not disappoint, having a range of terraces all ...

...offering privacy. There are comfortable wicker chairs and a coffee table under the covered terrace for relaxing with a drink. Another covered dining terrace is by the BBQ for all those meals al fresco. The small raised terrace also has a table and chairs with a distant view of the sea but clear views of the mountains. The doors from the dining room lead to a terrace, which is perfect for your sunbeds and alongside there is a shaded al-fresco dining area with table and chairs and barbecue. There is also a small walled courtyard terrace off the master bedroom, to the back of the villa. Around the pool is the place to sunbathe with 6 sunbeds and a parasol. The 7m x 4m pool has had roman steps built into it, where those just wanting to cool off can sit and the rest of the pool is ideal for properly playing in whether you are a small kid or a big kid! The pool is solar heated all year round and electrically heated November - April inclusive. To help with your luggage we provide a pool towel each for the duration of your stay. There is a front wall that provides privacy from the outside world. It looks like a low wall from within the grounds, but with a very low pavement the wall is high from the other side, giving you the privacy. The villa interior has been refurbished to a smart, fresh, modern style. It has a lovely, spacious lounge/dining room with doors opening on to the covered terrace and pool area. There is a full SKY TV package, English and Irish terrestrial TV channels and DVD player. The villa has free WiFi. The villa layout works well whether there are just the two of you, or if you are a larger group. The kitchen has been refurbished and is now beautifully bright, white and modern. The very large master bedroom is suitable for an extra bed for a child and has a spacious en-suite bathroom. The double bedroom and twin bedroom share the family shower room. The kitchen has been totally refurbished and is well equipped. It has a door through to a spacious utility room, which can also be accessed from the patio and is perfect for the storage of beach toys, bikes, etc. 5 minutes beyond the harbour is the small Chica Beach with its popular beachside cafe/restaurant overlooking the sea. The beach is popular with families and couples as it is a small cove beach with rock pools and shallow water. It is here by the beachside cafe that lots of the water sports in Puerto del Carmen are based - scuba diving, parasailing and jet skiing so its a hive of activity and a great spot for people watching. 5 minutes further on from Chica Beach is the main beach, Playa Grande, with all the main beach road facilities right there. Along the main beach road the traffic is only one way and there is a cycle path that runs the full length of the beach road. If you head west out the villa you can take the fairly rugged walk to the upmarket Puerto Calero Marina (about 40 mins) or travel by water taxi from one harbour to another.

Lounge/diner Lounge through to hallway

Lanzarote is situated just 70 miles off the coast of Africa and is the most easterly of the Canary Islands. The island is 37 miles (60km) long and 12 miles (20 km) wide, making it the fourth largest island in the Canaries.

Lanzarote enjoys a mild dry climate with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21C (70F) in January to 29C (84F) in August. Annual rainfall is just 140mm (5.5 inches). This makes Lanzarote the perfect year-round destination.

As with the other Canary Islands, Lanzarote is Volcanic in origin. Due to the recent eruptions during the 18th and 19th Centuries, many parts of Lanzarote appear to be from another world, often described as 'lunar' or 'Martian', so much so that parts of the film 'Planet of the Apes' were shot here. The dry climate (and lack of erosion) means that the Volcanic Landscape appears much as it did just after the eruptions.

Amongst the many stunning Volcanic features of Lanzarote is the longest Volcanic Tunnel in the world, the Atlantida Tunnel, which is over 7 km long and includes the La Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua.

Despite the Volcanic nature of the island, Lanzarote has several beautiful white beaches such as at Playa Blanca and Papagayo. The beach at Famara is fantastic, especially for watching the surfing and the long main beach in Puerto del Carmen is plenty big enough for everyone to spread out and enjoy in peace.

Local authority regulations on the amount and style of development mean that there is no billboard advertising and no high rise buildings in Lanzarote (with the exception of the Grand Hotel in Arrecife)

Puerto del Carmen is situated on the south-east side of Lanzarote, was originally a fishing village and has grown to become one of the island's finest beach resorts.

This villa is located in the prestigious area of Risco Prieto, an upmarket residential area near the Old Town where the individual villas will suit those who want quiet and seclusion but still be walking distance from town.

Harbour: The Old Town is set around the harbour, which is a 10 minute walk to the huge selection of excellent restaurants with freshly caught fish often a speciality. Great for lunch, dinner or a drink while an adventure playground keeps the children amused. Lots of choice of boat trips from the harbour including trips on a submarine, scuba diving, fishing trips, pleasure cruises and the Water Taxi to the marina at Puerto Calero. The area is popular for strolling and a popular pastime is watching the men on the water front playing boules in the evenings.

Shopping: The Old Town is also well served with shops and the new Biosfera Shopping Plaza, a 13 minute walk (0.9km), hosts such well known names as Zara and Timberland and is a pleasure to visit – a good place to cool off on a hot day because it is air conditioned. It has four floors of shops, restaurants and amusements including the Starlight Open Air cinema playing 2 English movies each evening, a billiard and pool hall, crazy golf, and Cine6D virtual reality motion rides.

Beaches: Playa Chica, a 17-18 minute walk (1.4km) is a pretty little cove surrounding by volcanic rocks, which is perfect for snorkelling and diving (a dive school is located here). Other sports enjoyed at Playa Chica are parascending, banana boat rides, single and double jet-skiing, Crazy UFO and Fly-boarding. The main beach, Playa Grande, a 20-22 minute walk (1.6km) is a long stretch of fine grain sand with calm waters, a very gentle shelf and little current so paddling and swimming are very safe. This lively resort has a beach road with shops, bars and restaurants along one side and the wide, golden sand of Playa Grande with a promenade along the other. There are sunbeds and umbrellas for hire for those who wish to relax or water sports for those who seek more activity. The Puerto del Carmen beaches fly the Blue Flag awarded by the EEC for cleanliness and lack of contamination. A variety of sports including tennis and squash are available at the sports centre near the Fariones Hotel.

Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park, a 7 minute drive (5km). Displays of birds of prey, sea lions, and parrots and cockatoos and you can also see other exotic birds and reptiles, including the Komodo dragon. Also a cowboy lasso and whip show, and the children can enjoy canoeing and gold-panning, pony riding, and then cool off in the pool.

Lanzarote Golf: a public 18-hole course - 8 minute drive (4.8km).

Puerto Calero: 50 minute walk (4km) go west along the coastal walk-way and you will reach the marina at Puerto Calero, where there are lovely restaurants and gorgeous shopping. This walk is very popular with our clients. There is also a water taxi from the Old Town harbour if you don’t fancy the walk either one way or both ways. The restaurants in Puerto Calero are perfect for a long lazy lunch. The water taxi back costs 6 Euros and the last one leaves about 5pm.

Gran Karting: a go-karting club 15 minutes drive north-east (13km).

Timanfaya National Park: the natural wonder of Lanzarote has a unique 'Martian' landscape and rare plant species. To the El Diablo restaurant, a 30 minute drive (22km). A unique experience is it to take a camel ride across the volanic landscape, which is a 20 minute drive (17km) away.

Aqualava Water Park: a geothermally-heated water park 30 minutes drive south-west (25km)

Markets: every Friday 10am - 4pm about 100 stalls set up at the Plaza Varadero near the Old Town harbour for locally sourced fruit, vegetables and flowers, as well as handmade craft items, jewellery and clothes (600m). At nearby Tias, the Saturday morning 9am - 2pm Farmers market is an ideal place to purchase fresh locally produced vegetables much cheaper than the supermarkets (10 minute drive 6km north-east). Also, the biggest open-air street market in Lanzarote is on Sunday mornings 9am - 2pm in Teguise (28 minute drive, 21km, north-east).

Festivals: late February, revel at the Carnival or if you’re visiting in July, don’t miss the folklore performances, folk singing, dancing and vibrant processions at the Feast of St Carmen, patron saint of the city and fishermen.

Fly to Arrecife from all major airports in UK: Gatwick, Luton, Stansted, Birmingham, Manchester, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Glasgow and many more.
Airlines include, BA, Ryan Air, Easyjet, Jet2 and Thomas Cook.

Car hire is relatively cheap in Lanzarote. A hire car is the best option for discovering the remote wilderness regions. It only takes about 40 minutes to cross the entire island from North to South by car, and about 25 minutes across.

We offer an airport transfer service run by a reliable local company who will meet you at Lanzarote airport. They will transport you by minibus to your villa or apartment. On your departure day, at a pre-arranged time, they will collect you and return back to the airport for your flight home.

The pool is solar heated all year round and electrically heated for you from November - April inclusive. Just ask if you would like a price for adding pool heating to one of our villas during the summer months.
Cots and highchairs can be hired at £3 each per night.

Prices include pool electrically heated from November to April inclusive. For extra pool heating, please ask for a quote. The private pool is surrounded by sun bathing and shaded terracing where you can relax and enjoy views of the mountains.

We have just returned from spending a wonderful two weeks in this lovely Villa. This property is spacious and very well equipped for all your needs with the added bonus of air-con in all the bedrooms. The pool and outside space is perfect to spend relaxing days in the sun. The villa is perfectly situated in a lovely quiet area, but close enough to shops and restaurants. We will hopefully return to this villa next year.
Mrs South, West Midlands, UK stayed June-July 2019

My group of 5 have just returned from 2 very enjoyable weeks on Lanzarote. We found Villa Carrida met our expectation and needs. It is a very good property situated in a nice, quiet location and close to a supermarket and restaurant also bars. if one needed same Carrida was adequately furnished, well equipped and very clean and tidy both on take over and after the first week change of bedding, towels and light clean. I was very impressed with your attention to detail from the original booking date and found your local agent Erika and team complimented your standard well. The swimming pool was thoroughly maintained and was a 'hit' with all as there were Roman Steps rather than the 'usual' ladder and was heated to a very agreeable temperature. Would I return to Villa Carrida, definitely yes. It is the best villa I have booked on Lanzarote to date
Mr F, Hampshire stayed Mar 2019

Villa Carrida was everything that we had hoped for. The villa is beautifully decorated and very well appointed. We had a slight problem with the toilet in the second bathroom but as soon as we reported it the staff in Lanzarote were straight on to it so we have no complaints. We have booked with you several times before over the years and always received an excellent service. This time was no different. We have already been looking at other villas on the website that might be better if we come with other family members but would definitely stay at Villa Carrida again. We will certainly be booking with you again in the future.

Hi Sue and Andrea,
Yes, we had a wonderful time thank you.
The villa was perfect for our needs, clean and tidy, in a quiet location, but with a spar and a few bars and restaurants on our door step if we didn’t fancy walking down to the harbour.
The wifi and Sky channels worked very well, which hasn’t always been the case on previous holidays.
We would definitely recommend your property to others without hesitation.

A home from home in the sunshine
★ ★ ★ ★ ☆
We had a lovely time staying at Carrida Villa for 2 weeks. It had everything we needed for our holiday, including a full sky package on the tv, which meant my husband could watch MotoGP! It was in really good location with a great restaurant down the road (Mario's). It was really clean and well looked after, the pool was cleaned regularly and the villa was cleaned at the end of the first week. We would definitely recommend this villa, it is in a quiet area but only a 15 min walk to the marina. We had a great time and would stay there again.
Mrs J, Lancashire, UK stayed Aug 2018

Great Villa, Quiet Location, Everything you Need!
Me and my wife have had several villa holiday's over the years - this is one of our favourites in terms of furnishings, cleanliness and facilities. The villa had absolutely everything we needed and has very been refurbished to a high standard. The walk in shower is great, beds comfortable and the layout in general was great for us e.g. all on one level (which helped with us having an 8 month old). The TV in the villa is set up with full sky package and lots of on demand movies which was great for me and our son (mainly me) to relax to during afternoon naps whilst my wife enjoyed the sun.
The outdoor space is lovely, with a nice BBQ area and the pool a good size with walk in steps - we had the pool heated which I would definitely recommend. The pool was lovely and clean - the pool cleaner turned up twice during our 8 day stay to keep on top of things.
The location is great, it is set in a very quiet part of puerto del carmen, fairly easy walking distance to the old town and harbour where there are plenty of bars and places to eat - the area is a little hilly but we found it okay and my wife has a bad hip and coped well. Local shops (Spar) and bars are very close by - we tended to get small bits, water and bread etc. from the spar each day but did our main shop at Lidl which is a short drive away. We had a hire car but could have coped without one as we did not really explore the island much during our stay, it was our first holiday with our newborn and we just wanted a relaxing quiet place with everything we needed close by and Carrida certainly delivered. If we are returning to the island in the future we would definitely look into booking this villa again.
Mr G, Hampshire, UK stayed May 2018

Lovely Villa, excellent pool and outside area. The TV has loads of channels including being able to watch loads of football if that’s your thing. The kitchen is well equipped and there are 2 nice bathrooms one of which has a huge rainforest shower. The only thing I struggled with was the mattress as it was very firm ! Other than that the villa is in the best location in Puerto del Carmen. Shame there were no blow ups for the pool Thank you to Erika too
Mrs H, UK stayed April 2018

The place was fine, clean, confortable and everything functionning very well. And also very silent, which we totally appreciated.. The location is also fine, near the old part of Porto Carmen. And finally the support of Erika Lopez was just fine: first day, last day and if we had special wish or problem she was very quickly present and helpful. So again everything was fine. We will probably come back sometime and also recommend the address around us.
Rene, Zurich stayed Feb 2018

We really enjoyed our stay in Villa de Carrida. It was perfect, very spacious and in a quiet neighbourhood. The pool was a bit hit, lovely temperature and great size.
I would really recommend the villa, it was very well maintained and modern with lots of kitchen equipment for preparing meals, but close enough to walk to local restaurants.
I’m sure we will be back.

Dear Sue and Andrea
Just wanted to thank you for both villas we had an excellent holiday with fantastic weather! Just wanted to give you some feedback on both villas. Casa Gegore was so much better than we expected we only ever intended it to be a stop gap before Carrida but we loved it and were sorry to leave! The pool and outside area was amazing and we found the lounge really homely and comfortable! The internet was excellent and the management company dealt really quickly with a couple of tiny issues and we met the owners who were lovely and so helpful! My only small criticism is that all the markings are worn away on the cooker and it was very difficult to work out which setting was the oven/ grill etc but we had an amazing time and actually found the location better than expected and would certainly return to that area it was a lovely walk down to restaurants and bars and we just got cheap taxis back!
Carrida has really changed since we were there five years ago and is very bright with the air conditioning an excellent addition! The kitchen and utility area are lovely and so easy to use! We were slightly unlucky that the villa opposite was having a lot of work done on it so was not as quiet as usual! I did mention to Erika the only criticism I had was that the internet television is excellent when it works!!! Unfortunately we had two whole days when it didn't work at all( not a villa problem as local pubs had same issues) and really felt the villa needed a DVD player to give an alternative when the television doesn't work as there are no other channels except through internet! The other strange thing was the master bedroom not having a lock on the door? In all my years of villa rental I have never had a master bedroom without a lock and with much older children felt we didn't have any privacy! We still like the location of Carrida and it is beautifully decorated throughout but having done two villas I think we probably slightly preferred Gegore and I never thought I would say that!!!
Thank you for all your help in booking etc the transition from one villa to the other was painless and Erika showed us Cielo( which is amazing) and the pool extension and updates to Benedict since we last stayed there which is an amazing transformation! We will definitely be back in contact the next time we decide to go to Lanzarote!
Thanks again
Mrs K, Essex, UK, stayed Gegore and Carrida Aug 2017

This is my 9th visit to Puerto Del Carmen. I'm here to celebrate my 20th wedding anniversary having first come here on honeymoon. I've stayed in many villas and the past four visits in one just behind this. I arrived last night and I'm blown away by the quality!
Beautiful new kitchen with lots of nice touches, welcome items of milk and juice biscuits and condiments. The sofas, wifi and full tv are a real luxury compared to most villas I've stayed in. The most comfortable pillows and bed, I've always found beds too hard here. The bathrooms are beautiful. The garden and pool is stunning.
My absolute joy is the interior design, the orange and pink detail and the beautiful art has had me googling for ages. If anyone knows where I can find the monks canvas I would love one! Stunning villa! Thank you. (I hope to one day retire to this area. I have absolute envy of your beautiful home)
Bonnie, stayed April 2017

Stayed at this idealic villa for two weeks at the end of the summer. Cannot recommend it highly enough from its upmarket location to the high spec this luxury villa is maintained. The location of this villa is perfect for a relaxing holiday, walking distance to the harbour and many restaurants. The costal path made it a scenic walk down to the old town harbour.
I would also recommend the lovely costal walk to Costa Calero for lunch and to return by ferry especially if accompanied by younger children. We did also rent bikes for a week during our stay and I would highly recommend the lovely couple at Revolution Bikes opposite Lidl. They were so obliging and even dropped us back to the villa when returning the bikes on the last day. The bikes were great especially when little legs got tired during our sight seeing tours of Puerto del carmen.
The nearest shop and butcher to the villa which is just a few minutes walk provide most daily essentials however we did do a bigger shop in the local Lidl store, approx 5 minute drive. The local butcher is of a high quality and would recommend getting your meat here especially for the many barbecues we enjoyed at the villa.
Our party included two couples and our 3 year old daughter. She thoroughly enjoyed the superb swimming pool at the villa which was impeccably cleaned twice during our stay. We covered the pool each night as instructed by the management company and this ensured the pool was warm each morning for our early riser!! We tended to dine in on many occasions for lunch/dinner and the barbecue and terraced seating area made this perfect for us. The villa itself has three spacious bedrooms and two large bathrooms. The master bedroom with its own private courtyard was a real treat to escape to read a book during the day. The large lounge area with wifi and full sky package is ideal for families with young or older children to entertain. The kitchen has every amenity you could require and makes preparing meals very easy which is exactly what you want on holiday. Clean Towels and bed sheets were changed and supplied during our stay and the washing machine which actually washes clothes perfectly was a big plus especially with a young child. Erica and the villa management team were excellent and very prompt with their responses to any queries (usually within an hour or less of sending an email I got a response).
This villa will not disappoint and we will most definitely return in the future.

"Lovely villa."
We tend to rent villas for our annual summer holiday. Villa De Carrida did not disappoint. We have never stayed in a single storey villa before but will do so again after this holiday. The floor plan layout was ideal. All bedrooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable, wardrobes have a plentiful of hangers. The bathrooms are nicely furnished and huge! The kitchen is newly furnished with everything you require. The washing machine actually washed clothes sufficiently another first on our holiday. The information supplied informs you to put the pool cover on of an evening/night which we didn't do at the beginning of our holiday but soon realised that it is good advice. This was our first visit to Lanzarote and the wind certainly cools things down. I cannot fault Villa De Carrida we had a very private, quite, relaxing stay in the accommodation and a pleasant walk down to the bars and restaurants of an evening to enjoy the nightlife. Having teenagers with us this did mean that we didn't go to bed until 1 or 2 am in the morning. We hired a car for the two weeks and explored the island. It is not necessary to hire a car. It depends what you are looking for from your holiday. The management staff are fantastic and it was a really nice touch to have a representative visit on our first morning to provide us with lots of information on sightseeing etc. The cleaners were great! Whoever visits Villa De Carrida will have a lovely stay.
Oat, stayed July 2016

We thoroughly enjoyed Villa de Carrida . It was spotlessly clean and well equipped for all our needs. We would happily use it again and and would recommend it to anyone for a visit to indeed I would recommend the efficiency and friendliness of your company.
