Barcelona

Barcelona a city that never sleeps has to be one of the most interesting vibrant fun cities to visit. Ive been twice to Barcelona, one trip was business and the other not, but both very enjoyable weekend breaks.  I found a beautiful apartment just off the famous Las Ramblas which was the perfect place to spend our first evening at one of the outdoor cafes and just watch the world go by.  Street entertainers are dotted the length of this famous street and are truly fascinating to watch them perform.  The next morning off I went to find an open top tourist bus to take me on a tour of the city.  This is a great way to view the city and once you pay for your ticket you can hop on/hop off as you want.  It took in all the major sites like the Giant Temple designed by the master architect Antonio Gaudi. This building has been under construction since 1882 and they've still got another 30 to 80 years to go before it will be finished.  Another site which is very popular and in my opinion a "must" visit is the Magic Fountain of Montjuic. This is a light, music and water extravaganza that just can't be missed! It really is spectacular to watch.  All in all I was pretty pleased with myself with all I had seen in just a couple of days.  Barcelona night life is alive, the tapa’s bars, restaruants and bars are heaving with locals and tourists alike!  Barcelona is definitely well up there as one of my favourite cities………………
