The cottage is a three bedroom house that can accommodate up to eight people. There are two bedrooms upstairs - one double with ensuite and one double with two single beds. Downstairs there is another double bedroom, a wet room and utility room. There is also a large kitchen living room with large windows overlooking Gweebara bay. There is a concrete drive up to the house and a concrete apron around the house. The cottage is very tastefully decorated and equipped with freezer, dishwasher, microwave and all mod cons. The aspect of the house is south facing therefore getting the benefit of solar gain all day. It is an ideal touring base for exploring the south and west of the county with Slieve League, Donegal Town, Letterkenny, Errigal, Glenveagh Castle and the offshore islands, to mention just a few, all about an hour's drive away. The pristine Doney beach is 3 kms from the cottage with its soft sand, dunes and Atlantic waves is a must see. Donegal has an aboundance of beaches all along the west coast just waiting to be explored. The links golf course of Narin/Portnoo is 7kms away and there are several excellent golf courses in close proximity and It is a walker and hikers heaven. Locally there are two small shops and three pubs with the larger supermarkets just 10kms away. The owners live next door and are available to assist in any way they can

The Donegal Region

The cottage is located in a rural very scenic area. It is a very safe area and the beaches are clean, safe and exquisite. Locally is ample opportunity for walking and hiking and there are several golf courses wishing a short drive. The local pubs have music and pool facilities and there is a trad session every Friday night. There is bingo in the local hall weekly and also during the week in the two nearest town. There is canoeing and boating available in Narin (7kms away) and also in tartan outdoor persuits centre about an hour away. There are several sea excursions available and also sea fishing trips. The heritage town of Ardara is a short drive away and there are regular music festivals there also . There are local festivals in Dungloe, Glenties, Burtonport and Donegal town among other during the summer months. The nearest cinema is about an hour away in Letterkenny as is the nearest bowling alley and go- karting. There is no shortage of things to do and places to go but there is also plenty of time to sit and do nothing and just watch the world go by

Getting There

From Dublin - travel through Cavan and Enniskillen towards Donegal town. Follow signs for killybegs from Donegal town. After seven miles turn right signposted Glenties. Go through the town of Glenties signposted Dungloe. Follow road for seven miles, cross a large bridge called Gweebara bridge, take first turn on the left. Follow this road for one mile, house on your right with an orange and blue cart at the bottom the concrete drive

Rental Details

In July and August there is a seven night minimum booking policy from Saturday to Saturday and a weekly rental rate is charged at this time
For the rest of the year there is a minimum two night booking policy and it is a nightly rate that is charged then
One dog is welcome provided they are housetrained and well behaved.
No stag or hen parties.

There is an enclosed deck area with table and chairs and a gas BBQ. There is also a second table and chairs positioned to catch the morning sun. There are maintained gardens with lots of planting and fruit bushes. The exterior has safe parking and a safe play area for children. Magnificent uninterrupted view from the front of the property.

Interior Details

The cottage is impeccably maintained and cleaned to the highest standard, it is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. It s a spacious three bedroom house with an en suite and a wet room. All towels and basic toiletries are supplied. The beds and bedding are top quality and very comfortable. There is Oil fired central heating and an open fire, we provide a starter fire pack. The kitchen is very well equipped with crockery, glasses and appliances. The cooker hob and oven are electric and there is a dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and freezer. The biggest attraction of the house is the beautiful view from inside which changes all the time as the tide comes in and out. There is a lovely rocking chair just inside the door which is my favourite spot!
