The large dining table accommodates 12 where everyone can gather as food is prepared. Nearby, in Killybegs, you can buy freshly caught fish on the pier almost daily. Along with the standards such as dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, toaster, etc. the kitchen also has many extras such as a juicer, veg/fish steamer, toasted sandwich maker, and lots of coffee making items (milk foamer, espresso jug, coffee maker, etc.).

LIVING ROOM
The comfortable living room has three sofas, an open fire, flat screen TV (with sky channels including the Kids Channel), DVD player and DVDs, CD player and CDs, books and board games.

BEDROOMS
Our bedrooms are all comfortable havens with good quality mattresses, two pillows per guest and good quality cotton bedding. Upstairs there are 2 double bedrooms (one with a king size bed, the other with a double bed) both en suite, 2 twin bedded rooms and a family bathroom with bath. Our third double bedroom is on the ground floor and has an en suite wet room. Each bedroom has a good quality hairdryer.
We supply snowy white towels for your use (2 face/wash cloths, 2 hand towels, and 2 bath sheets per guest per week). Beach towels are also supplied for trips to nearby sandy beaches where you can take a picnic using our picnic dishes and cold boxes.

PATIO AREAS, GARDEN & GAMES LOFT
At the back of Daisy Cottage we have a large, covered patio with tables and seating for up to 12. The covered patio adjoins the south facing, walled and private orchard garden and just outside the back door there is a small patio with a table and two seats. In the building to the back of Daisy Cottage there is a games loft where we have a pool/air hockey table, darts board and football table.

UTILITY
In our utility area we have a washing machine, tumble dryer, clothes airer, iron, ironing board and pegs for the washing line which can be extended across the covered patio area when needed.

The entrance at the front of Daisy Cottage is on the ground floor and the entrance to the back door has a ramp leading up to the door. Inside, we have one double bedroom downstairs which has a double bed with an electric blanket, bedside cabinets and a wardrobe. Adjoining the bedroom is a large wet room with a shower, loo (with grab rail if needed) and sink. We can also supply on request a sturdy chair for use in the shower. All our light switches are at the lower level so easily reached should one be using a wheelchair.

The Donegal Region

Dunkineely lies at the head of the promotory St. John's Point where the scenery is outstanding. There is a small coral beach there and the diving at the point is among the best in Ireland ~ and if you are lucky you might just catch a glimps of dolphins. Around the village is a Heritage Trail which includes one of the oldest Celtic Crosses in Ireland. There are dolmens, burial cairns and the like in the area too. Nearby there is an open farm which also offers horse riding. Inver Beach is a few kilometers away and is a lovely, quiet sandy beach. In the village itself there are pubs where traditional Irish music can be heard on various nights. The village also has a shop, diner, hairdressers, taxi and so on. There is a bus service between Dunkineely and Killybegs and Donegal Town and a local taxi service. There are many restaurants and cafes all around and most are family friendly. More formal dining can be enjoyed at Harvey's Point or Castle Murray House (which is not even half a mile from the house).

There are many scenic drives to take, perhaps the most famous being the Sliabh Liag cliffs which are the highest approachable sea cliffs in Europe.

You can see my photographs of the area by going to http://www.flickr.com/photos/donegalireland/

Dunkineely Area

GIRLS WEEKEND
"Just a wonderful cottage, very spacious and well equipped - thanks for the goodies and the warm welcome. Fantastic location close to Castle Murray House where we had a beautiful 50th celebration party. Great local beaches, friendly shops, fab fish and chips.
