This entire two bedroom,two bathroom property was refurbished with input from an interior designer. It is spacious and bright. The living/dining area has a 2-seater and 3-seater couch(converts to additional double bed), coffee tables,TV,DVD player,Wi Fi, satellite TV, dining table and chairs. It has a breakfast bar which opens to the kitchen and patio doors which open to the double terrace and idyllic garden/pool area.
The main bedroom is en-suite and has a dressing area and patio doors which open on to the terrace and gardens.There is a double bed which converts to twin if preferable. The second bedroom has twin beds and ample storage. Both bedrooms are tastefully decorated to a high standard. One bathroom is en-suite and has wc,bidet and a shower. The second has wc,and bath/shower. Both are decorated in traditional tiling and have marble sink areas, heated towel rails and pull cord electric heaters.
The kitchen has a granite worktop, breakfast bar and all mod cons including dishwasher, washer/dryer and microwave.

The Algarve Region
The Algarve region and Western Algarve in particular is famous for its climate (typically at least 300 days sunshine per year), stunning beaches and golf courses. Alvor beach offers miles of golden sand, while towards Portimao there are many unspoilt coves,most notably the small cove of Praia dos Tres Irmaos with its stunning red cliffs. Further east can be found deserted caves and grottos at Joao de Areus. Vau beach is only a short stroll away and it is possible to walk approximately 3 miles to the end of the beaches at Praia Do Rocha. There is also a stunning 10 km clifftop walk above Vau beach which commences a 5 minute stroll from the apartment.
Alvor has been described by some as "Dingle in the sun!" Fishermen can be seen at dawn bringing in their catch or standing on the shore drawing in their nets. The harbour area remains unspoilt and is very pretty. It offers a fantastic selection of excellent and reasonably priced restaurants to suit all tastes and it is heaven for seafood lovers. The cobbled streets of Alvor have cafes and bars and a good variety of shops selling local leather goods,linens, jewellery,and crafts. Those who require more serious retail therapy can find a greater selection in the shopping centres in nearby Portimao or Praia do Rocha.
Praia do Rocha also offers lots of nightlife options with its pubs, clubs and casinos for those who like to stay up til dawn! It is a short taxi ride from the apartment (6 mins. approx.) and taxis are reasonably priced in the Alvor area. There are many activities and excursions available eg. the Slide and Splash Aquapark, Zoomarine, the Swimming with Dolphins experience and watersports are available on the larger beaches. There are guided cliffs walks from Vau beach to Alvor, or early morning yoga sessions on the beach can also be organised locally. Details of a range of activities and telephone numbers of taxis are available in the apartment.
This property is ideally located for the golf entheusiast, as the apartment is adjacent to the driving range. The 18-hole golf course at Alto was the last to be designed by Sir Henry Cotton, English golfing legend and triple winner of the British Open. Iti s set in beautifully landscaped gardens and has the Monchique Mountains as its backdrop. There are excellent views to the sea from many parts of the course.Club facilities include the driving range,putting green,pitching area complete with bunkers, trolleys, club hire, pro-shop, restaurant and bar.
Low cost Ryanair flights from Shannon and Dublin, bargain Aer Lingus flights from Cork and Dublin, all 2 to 3 times weekly. Alvor is approx 50 minutes drive from Faro airport and there are many private transfer companies which can be easily booked on the internet at an approx cost of 90 euro for a return journey for 4 people. There are also taxis at the airport and it is advisable to agree fares before the journey.Alternatively the owners have a taxi contact who will be happy to do airport transfers by prior arrangement. Car hire is also available at the airport.

The swimming pool and garden are communal but are typically quiet. Guests can opt to visit beautiful Vau beach and cliffs a short stroll away.

The double terrace opens to the large,mature and peaceful gardens. A short flagstone path leads to the pool area with pool house and ample sunbathing facilities. One terrace can be enclosed to create a further outdoor living space ideal for dining and entertaining. The other terrace has a remote controlled awning which can be opened on the typically hot portuguese days.There is both underground and outdoor private parking available.

This is a spacious and beautifully decorated cottage apartment. There is ample storage and all the comforts of home,plus some more! (See extras as listed above).
All linens and towels (including beach towels) are included. The apartment is cleaned weekly and towels changed for guests.
