The Algarve Region

The Algarve has long been a popular holiday destination, with it's sunny climate, fabulous beaches and dramatic coastline! The Western Algarve has all this and more, being generally quieter and more laid back than the larger resorts closer to Faro - ideal for a more relaxing holiday, lazing in the sun, enjoying the many coastal walks or making the most of those beautiful beaches!

The Algarve people are naturally friendly and welcoming, and eating out is always a pleasure with such a wide variety of excellent restaurants in the area.

 

Praia da Luz Area

Luz, an attractive seaside village well known for its excellent beach and Watersports, is a super family holiday location.

Luz has something for everyone - starting with its safe, sandy beaches - the central attraction for many visitors. Lagos 5 Mins and Burgau 5 Mins have excellent beaches. The Western coast is easily reachable for Surfers and those looking for long sandy quiet beaches

For the more adventurous, water-sports are available including windsurfing and boating. Tuition is available for water skiing and diving if you fancy learning something new. The area is also good for surfing.

Water parks and Zoo Marine are within 30 minutes

There is also horse riding, bird watching, fishing, sailing and golf available in the vicinity. Parque Da Floresta - 10 Mins, Boavisa 5 Mins, Palmares 15 Mins. Penina 25 Mins etc

In the way of eating and entertainment, there are a number of good restaurants in the village serving a variety of local and International dishes and two good beach bars, Neraby Burgau has nice restaurants whilst Lagos has lots of choice for all tastes

Lagos/Luz have excellent night life and something for everyone, local shops sell UK/Irish products and fresh meats for that "Al Fresco" BBQ on the terrace as the sun sets

Fly to Faro with Ryanair, Aer Arann or Aer Lingus from Dublin, Cork, Shannon, Galway, Waterford
Lots of flights available from the UK with BMI baby or BA, Ryanair,Monarch, Easyjet etc

Also accessible from Lisbon Airport - 2.5 - 3Hr Drive
