The Alto Country Club is a beautiful resort comprising of villas and apartments set in the midst of 18 acres of tropical gardens. The Country Club is ideally located overlooking the bay of Lagos.The fantastic beach is only a 10 minute walk away and comprises of 7km of beautiful white sand with great facilities such as beachside restaurants. The beach is a favourite with water sports enthusiasts. The centre of Alvor, an unspoilt fishing village, is only a 2 minute stroll away from our apartment in Alvor.
Guests of the Alto Country Club and these Alvor apartments also have access to reduced green fees at the Alto Golf Club which is 1km away nad all other Pestana Golf Courses in Portugal. Alto Golf was designed by Sir Henry Cotton an English Golfing legend and triple winner of the British Open. It is recognised as one of the finest courses in the Algarve. Golf Club facilities include a driving range, putting green, pitching area complete with bunkers, trollyes, club hire, pro shop, restaurant and bar.
Children are well catered for in this apartment. It is a ground floor apartment with no balcony access from the bedrooms. It is also close to the outdoor pool which makes going back and forwards between the apartment and the pool easier. We have a good selection of childrens DVDs, books, pool and beach toys. There is also a buggy available for use in the apartment.
The apartment is fully furnished to a high standard.

The Algarve Region
The Algarve has a temperate climate almost all year round and boasts over 300 days of sunshine a year. The Algarve is renowned for its warm climate and clean sandy beaches. The long beautiful coastline has amazing beaches of fine sand which are seldom over crowded.
Alvor is situated between the towns of Portimao and Lagos and is now a very popular holiday location. However it still retains it's old world charm. The narrow cobbled streets boast many bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and is one of the prettiest locations in the West Algarve. This is truly a place for the whole family to enjoy and many return year after year.
The village is well located facing a natural lagoon opening onto the sea. There is a choice of a long open sandy beach or a number of small coves tucked under the cliffs.
For those looking for a more lively setting, the night life of Praia da Rocha is a short taxi ride away. Other areas of interest include the Monchique mountains, Sagres, Cape St Vincent and a host of Golf Clubs all within a short driving distance.

Alvor Area
Other places to visit include:
Lagos: Is a 20 minute drive away. There is a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants including a marina.
Portimao: The waterside area has recently been developed and is worth a visit. There is a market on the western edge of town selling a huge range of fish, seafood, fruit and vegetables.
Praia Da Rocha: There is a mangificant beach and a scenic cliff top walk that offers spectacular views of the beaches, cliffs and rocks. At night the whole main road running parallel with the beach is buzzing and vibrant. There are many clubs and bars open until the early hours of the morning.
Sagres and Cape St Vincent: Are the two most south westerly tips of Europe. They overlook the shipping lane between the Mediterranean and the North Atlantic - one of the worlds busiest.
Monchique and Silves: Pretty mountain top towns.
Golf: The Algarve is Europes foremost winter golfing location and there are approximately 33 golf courses to be found in the region. Those closest to Alvor include Alto, Penina, Palmares and Pinta.
Other activities include Slide & Splash (Waterpark), Sealife Ocean Safaris, the zoo at Barao Sao Joao (north west of Lagos), hill walking and cycling.

The nearest airport is Faro which 75km away or approximately a 50 minute drive.

Access to the balcony is through the lounge. The balcony gets the sun from lunchtime to early evening. Patio furniture comprises of table, 6 chairs, parasol and 2 sun loungers. There is an allocated parking space opposite the apartment. Also access to all facilities in both the Alto Golf and Alto Country Club.
Guests can enjoy free use of sun loungers and umbrellas on Alvor beach subject to availability.
Rental Details
Highchairs, cots and additional beds can be hired at a minimal additional charge.

Bedrooms: 2 large bedrooms with twin beds and fitted wardrobes.
Bathrooms: 2 bathrooms (1 ensuite) to include, bath, shower, bidet, wash hand basin and wc.
Kitchen: Modern recently refurbished, fully equipped kitchen. Includes cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, dish washer, all cooking utensils, washing machine, iron/ironing board.
Living Room: Open plan lounge / dining area with seating for 6 at the dining table. 2 and 3 seater sofas, TV, radio, CD and cassette player, video machine. Access to balcony though lounge.
Entrance Hall: With storage cupboard and table.
Cleaning/towels/linen/maid service: Maid service twice weekly to include midweek towel change and end of week complete linen change and clean. All linen, bath towels and separate pool towels provided. Please bring own beach towels.
